proper notes played, not recognized

When playing the proper note, the note changes color however the line is dotted instead of solid and the beat line will not progress. How do I correct this?

Sharps and flats use a dotted line and naturals unbroken. Occasionally a Midi will have two notes a half step apart that will display as one note, eg D and D# as there is no way to differentiate from just one D#.

Try combining the note with the equivalent half step up or down to see if there is an additional note.
